  90. them . Please  read all the doc files in order to get the full advantage of
  91. the excellent programs.

  99. 1.1 How to get a new update
  100. ---------------------------
  101. There  will be a new version of this disk at least 30 times a year . If you
  102. are interested in getting the newest edition , I'll send you one NON-PROFIT
  103. if you send me, IN UNITED STATES CURRENCY, $ 5 (if it is regional postage),
  104. 6 US$  (inside Europe),  or 7 US$  (outside Europe), or the EQUAL amount in
  105. your OWN....currency (MONEY). Note that this price reflects the cost of the
  106. disk and postage! This disk contains "ONLY"  Public Domain programs , which
  107. means that you can spread the disk without any problems  at all. Please see

  111. parts  of  the  original killer programs, of cause the most important files
  112. are here and will work,  but to get full advantage of the programs you have

  145. Do you have the time and the interest to become leader of a "Regional Virus
  146. Centre"in your country? If so,you are very welcome to contact me,and I will
  147. give you all the help you need to start.It is very, very.... important that
  148. you are "at home" with your Amiga and know alot about viruses and the like,
  149. so you can help people in your own country with their virus problems.

  152. before, and tell me about yourself, your Amiga work, it is VERY.. important

  198. made,thanks to the authors. If you are not a poor student or in a similarly

  209. 1.5 Virus Data Bank

  211. I have founded a quite unique virus data bank, with  international support,
  212. that  is  open  for  all  well  known  virus  killer programmers to use for
  213. updates.

  215. Our  virus  data bank is now succesful, and you can see many virus killers,
  216. knows a lot more than 100 viruses. In consequence,..... I have just started
  217. a new database, containing the names and addresses of virus  programmers in
  218. order to have them punished by the law.

  220. Do  you know a virus programmer? You can get a reward of $1000 for his name
  221. and  address. The fact is that the law punishes data crime very, very hard.

  225. 1.6 How to prevent viruses
  226. --------------------------
  227. The simple way:   ALWAYS write protect your disks.
  228.                   ALWAYS turn your Amiga off  for  60  seconds and on again
  229.                   before  you  insert  a  write  enabled  disk.  And please
  230.                   note if using 5.25" disks,DO NOT use transparent tape for
  231.                   write-protection, use a black one!
  232.  
  233. The best way:     Use this disk  and  send it to  your swap friends . Don't
  234.                   swap with lazy  guys who  send  you  virus infected disks
  235.                   more than one time.. We can all make  mistakes, but half-
  236.                   brains like that should NEVER get programs from us.......
  237.  
  238.  
  239. 1.7 How to use this disk
  240. ------------------------
  241. This  disk  will check your memory for any  resident in RAM  upon  startup.
  242. This  means  that you  will  get a  warning if  there is a virus ( known or
  243. unknown) in your memory. This is done by VMK,which will find ALL NEW VIRUS,
  244. and of cause ALL OLD VIRUSES!
  245.  
  246.  
  247.                 PLEASE NOTE...THIS IS A VERY IMPORTANT POINT!
  248.                 ---------------------------------------------
  249.  
  250. The best and easiest way to use this disk is to check your disk for viruses
  251. as a final operation after you have seen the contents,version, introes etc.
  252. Remember to clear the memory before test!
  253.  
  254. On  inserting  The  New  SuperKillers ,  you  will  at once get a requester
  255. informing you that something is resident in your memory.A virus perhaps...?
  256.  
  257. If positive,hunt the virus down. Use one of the ordinary virus killers from
  258. this  disk . No  mercy or weakness,  but try to fix that particular kind of
  259. virus . If the virus is not mentioned in the Virus Tutor below , send it to
  260. me very fast.
  261. Don't use this infected disk, but make quite sure that the virus really....
  262. infects  an  other  disk . Use a copy of this disk, infect it, and send the
  263. disk to me stating everything that happened , when you first met the virus.

  266. 1.8 especially for hard disk owners
  267. -----------------------------------
  268.  1.81 Virus which infects hard disk
  269.  ----------------------------------
  270. If you have a harddisk  be very careful with the Xeno, The Smilling Cancer,
  271. and The Travelling Jack viruses: these are the first viruses specially made
  272. to attack hard disks.
  273. Almost every  non-boot  virus  is well known  to be able to  harm your hard
  274. disk. However , very few people know that boot viruses can infect your hard
  275. disk,too . If you have an auto-boot hard disk you may get your sector 0 and
  276. 1 on cylinder 0 infected , and you will get a message saying something like
  277. "Not a DOS disk in unit 0".  Attention  use the VT killer to save your hard
  278. disk bootup!
  279.  
  280.  
  281.  1.82 If your harddisk is stopped
  282.  -------------------------------
  283. If you get virus problems  and you can't  start your hard disk , try to fix
  284. the problem with a re-boot of your own hard disk  installation  disk to try
  285. to start up your harddisk. That is very useful.
  286. Remember  that file  viruses ( non-bootviruses ) almost allways, infect the
  287. first  C-Command  in  your  s/startup-sequence,  delete  this command ,then
  288. replace the original C-Command ( found on your Workbench disk or similar).

  291.  1.83 Harddisk virus killers
  292.  ---------------------------
  293. Ordinary killers:
  294. ----------------
  295. For  checking  hard  disk  you  must use the file options in, BootX, and VT
  296. (PgrVTest), click on "Drives" choose e.g. DH0:.
  297.  
  298.  
  299. Special Killers :
  300. ---------------
  301. Use LVD or EVW,(Virus killer Tools Dir.) in your hard disk startup-sequence
  302. to protect for non-boot virus infection.
  303.  
  304.  
  305. Please.........attention to remember to un-pack all imploaded programfiles,
  306. if not you CAN'T... run the "SHI" viruskillers from your harddisk!
  307.  
  308. 1.9 Bug reports
  309. ---------------
  310. The only known bug I have found, is  various  problems with vector settings
  311. when you run BootX . Further more, BootX  have  problems, in that you can't
  312. reset the  memory  by  clicking  in  the BootX  requester . The vectors are
  313. $0020385A, and $000008E8; just  ignore  the requester and click "No", it is
  314. not a virus...take it easy! IF you click "Yes" it will  mean, that possibly
  315. some other programs will not run--in this chase use the "ClearMem" program.
  316.  
  317. If  you find other bugs please inform the authors or me about the problems.
  318.  
  319.  
  320. 2.0 What killer to use?
  321. ----------------------
  322. NEVER use a killer older than 3 months, why? because every months there is
  323. comming about 8-16 new viruses, OF CAUSE old killers don't find new virus!
  324.  
  325. All the virus killer programs mentioned beneath are shareware, freeware or
  326. like.  The commercial virus killer programs like Viruscope, Virus Control,
  327. and  Master  Killer  are NOT better than the the following mentioned virus
  328. killers:
  329.  
  330. 2.1 VIRUS CHECKER
  331. -----------------
  332. The  Virus  Checker  is  an excellent virus killer for all purposes,and is
  333. very easy  to  use. Please note the excellent "Learn mode", witch makes it
  334. easy to learn new unknown boot viruses too.                                
  335.  
  336. Excellent  for all novices, who don't know how to start and use other more
  337. technical virus killers.                                                   
  338.  
  339. 2.2 VIRUSZ
  340. ----------
  341. Is a  excellent  killer for  background running on user disks, or for your
  342. hard disk !
  343.  
  344. Please  remark  you  have  the  advantage,  of having a virus killer still 
  345. checking your disks as a background task!
  346. This  program  is  a MUST  for  everybody.  Remark  the  excellent un-pack
  347. feature  to  test packed programs for viruses. Attention for the pull-down
  348. menu, I have got report that some has forgotten this one. This killer is a
  349. killer of quite new generation knowing more than 10 different disk packers!
  350.  
  351. 2.3 FIND'EM"ALL
  352. ---------------
  353. FindEmAll is a new  very excellent RAM virus checker. When you want to use
  354. this  program, remember first....,to format a disk, then...... install the
  355. FindEmAll on this disk or do the same at your favorit user disks.
  356.  
  357. Many people don't know how VERY, VERY FAST and reliable this program is to
  358. use.  The  way  to use this program is very special: First look at the new
  359. disks  you  get, (You MUST load to the start of the program), then finally
  360. load  the  FindEmAll program. The FindEmAll program then tell you if there
  361. is  some  illegal  calls  maybe from a virus. This program is EXCELLENT to
  362. find new unknown viruses.
  363.  
  364. 2.4 VT
  365. ------
  366. Use  the  excellent  "VT" Virus Killer. It is a German killer, but I think
  367. you  will  be very surprised at how easy you are able to use this ultimate
  368. Killer.  The author has done a very good work with the documentation, etc.
  369.  
  370. This  new version have a check feature for  Read/Write errors and cruncher
  371. types too...Excellent! Please note; you can save your hard disk boot block
  372. too, to avoid hard disk breakdown by boot virus infection.
  373.  
  374. A very good virus killer indeed very, very......useful for harddisk check,
  375. and best knowing killer programs concerning file/link viruses.
  376.  
  377. 2.5 BOOTX
  378. ---------
  379. A  very good all-round virus killer with file check, learn option for boot
  380. viruses,  and  all  the  things  you need for a good virus killer program,
  381. except  from  an  analyse  mode,  but  maybe  you will find it in the next
  382. version  of  this  ultimate killer.
  383.  
  384. This is my FAVORITE, I think the best AT ALL, commercial killers included!
  385.  
  386. 2.6 VMK
  387. -------
  388. A  unique  virus  killer  specially  for  your  startup-sequence  with  an
  389. excellent analyse function. To this day......I have not found a new virus,
  390. that VMK could not find.
  391. Please note,  that VMK has a splendid feature, which shows the virus text,
  392. and most interesting ....this works ALSO if you have a new non-boot virus.
  393.  
  394. 2.7 LVD
  395. -------
  396. This  program  is  a first defence protection scheme against link viruses,
  397. file  viruses.  LVD  checks  every executable file your Amiga tries to run
  398. BEFORE  the  actual program  starts running.  This way, if a linkvirus has
  399. attached itself to the program, it will never get a chance to be activated.
  400. LVD  is  meant  to be put in your startup-sequence, preferably as close to
  401. the begining as possible, but NOT as the first entry since the first entry
  402. of  a  startup-sequence  is  most likely to be infected by a link- or file 
  403. virus. LVD is special excellent for hard disk pourpose.
  404.  
  405. Don't  only  use  one  of the above virus killer programs. To get the best
  406. security allways use 2-3 different ones of above the newest virus killers.
  407. No  one can be said as the best one. Maybe you prefer dark haired or maybe
  408. blond  haired  girls,  but whom is the most pretty ones? There is of cause
  409. a  lot  of hidden goods you first will find when you are familar the right
  410. ones.
  411.  
  412. Please........remember to send a shareware  gift to the programmer of your
  413. favorite  programs , this is the only way to get even better virus killers
  414. for the future!
  415.  
  416.  
  417. 2.8 CLI and Virus killer Tools
  418. ------------------------------
  419. By using CLI, you will find some very, very .....useful programs and tools
  420. in the "virus killer.Tools" Dir and C Dir , which gives you better results
  421. in hunting viruses.

  436. 3.0 View 80 search and txt. printing

  438. Try  to  use the print options in the menu of View 80 to print out the docs,
  439. files or pages and  use the excellent search feature !
  440.  
  441.  
  442. 4.0 Important this disk contains viruses
  443. ----------------------------------------
  444. NOTE, that the  BGS-9 / TTV-1 Virus is  write-protected  on this disk ; you
  445. can't remove the virus, but it DOES NOT infect your memory or disks in this
  446. special case . You can only use the SCA virus on this disk , if you use the
  447. BootX option  "Bootblocks/load" (from file), and write BB (write bootblobk)
  448. to an other disk.
  449.  
  450. Be VERY.... careful with the virus, or you will destroy some of your disks!
  451. This virus is  ALIVE ...! BUT it will NOT infect other disk from THIS DISK!
  452. The  SCA  virus  only infect Amiga systems useing Kickstart 1.2, but can be
  453. installed at all systems, and will then be found of any virus killer.
  454.  
  455. Remark that there is 3 different BGS-9 viruses for TEST PURPOSE..... of the
  456. excellent  unpack feature you can find in e.g. the VirusZ and BootX killers
  457.  
  458. These. viruses are ONLY on this disk to do your familiar with virus hunting
  459. by using all the different virus killers in practice.
  460.  
  461.  
  462. 5.0 Resident programs
  463. ---------------------
  464. If you meet some  residents  programs like System Z , Guardian and the like
  465. install them . Such programs  are now very , very  dangerous ; because they
  466. can hide the new viruses. ( This will happen , when you examine  your Amiga
  467. memory for virus , with the new generation of virus killers).
  468.  
  469.  
  470. 6.0 About clock virus and like
  471. -----------------------------
  472. Please note that NO......................... virus , can infect your clock,
  473. and  REMAIN  alive in  your clock ! There are some  programs and disk bugs,
  474. which are able to make strange things with your clock. I recommend that you
  475. use a program called  "System Test Program ver. 9.1", to repair your clock,
  476. if you have problems.
  477.  
  478. There are other alternatives if you don`t succeed :
  479.  
  480.    1. Type " SETCLOCK  OPT RESET " or
  481.  
  482.  
  483.    2. Use your Amiga Basic and type " Poke 14417980 "( HEX address dc003c )
  484.       then you will get a zero ( 0 ) on the HOLD BIT in your clock, and the
  485.       clock will start again.
  486.  
  487.  
  488.    3. The  newest setclock command, and on Workbench 1.3/2.0 is now able to
  489.       fix most of the problems.
  490.  
  491.  
  492. 7.0 How to remove BGS-9 virus and other file viruses
  493. ---------------------------------------------------
  494. This  virus is a  non-boot  virus ( marked " F " in the virus tutor ). It is
  495. taking  the name in the first command in the startup-sequence ( infects this
  496. command  like almost  all non-boot  viruses) . But this virus is placing the
  497. original  c/command in the devs directory as a nameless file. You can remove
  498. this virus and other viruses like this by following these instructions:
  499.  
  500.  1. Look at your startup-sequence and take note of the first command.
  501.  2. Find it in c or root dir ( file size 2608 bytes ) and delete this.
  502.  3. Load a utility like SID, Diskmaster or like.
  503.  4. Look after the nameless file in the devs directory.
  504.  5. Rename  this  file to its original name ( the first command name in the
  505.     startup-sequence ), and  move  it to  the c  directory  or wherever it
  506.     belongs.
  507.  6. Please remember that several virus  killers (e.g. VirusX) think you have
  508.     a infected disk, if you don't rename this nameless file.
  509.  
  510. And a little COPY hint : If you  have  errors , when  you are using X-Copy,
  511. try to  copy to RAM  and back  again . In many  cases you  will then have a
  512. perfect disk !
  513.  
  514.  
  515. 8. About "Saddam Hussein" and the CCCP viruses :
  516. ----------------------------------------------
  517. About Saddam Husein:
  518. --------------------
  519. Please  be  very careful , if you are working with the new "Saddam Hussein"
  520. file/link  virus . Note  that  there  is  a  boot virus with the same name,
  521. don't  be  confused . I get a lot of reports about the world wide spreading
  522. of this very,very...nasty virus: E.g. 6 well-known BBS hard disks have been
  523. corrupted in the "States" in the month of june-91 !

  525. Here you have some facts about this virus:
  526.  
  527. 1. The virus is a "multi-headed"  file- and link virus. Always infected in
  528.     L/Dir,if there is not an L/Dir on the disk,it will make one by itself.
  529.  
  530. 2. The Saddam file virus part is always to find in L/disk-validator , with
  531.    the same file length (1848) and of course....the same name a diabolical
  532.    thing oh...boy..!
  533.  
  534. 3. It can infect as the only one (I know) , even if you have the new super
  535.    Fat Agnus (1 MG ChipRam) and survive a reset.
  536.  
  537. 4. The Saddam link virus part is a VERY , VERY...... easy spreading virus,
  538.    it will  link  to  all files , e.g. to all executed , written or copied
  539.    files , but it does not change the file length,it only writes "IRAK" in
  540.    the start of the files. Please remark, that all theses  infected  files
  541.    will cause Read /Write" errors!  The  original  "Saddam"  infects  hard
  542.    disks too. I have several reliable reports  from Australia (1), and USA
  543.    (5), (the last five reports from USA were all  concerning  BBS  damages,
  544.    where more than 500 program files were damaged.
  545.  
  546. 5. It is  impossible to delete the virus or the link infected files with a
  547.    file editor like "Diskmaster", or from CLI.
  548.  
  549. 6. Attention the Saddam Hussein don't infects any disk, IF copyed from an
  550.    other disk, AND IF your disk is error free!
  551.  
  552.  
  553. Please  note, that BootX is the  ULTIMATE "Saddam" killer , but ONLY......
  554. use "Check files" to FIND.......the "Saddam" virus, you must then  use the
  555. "Repair disk"  menu  to  salv the Irak infected files. BootX will find the
  556. "Saddam"  virus  and  make  it  passive and repair the infected files very
  557. near  100 %,  but  can't  remove  the virus itself, you have to re-install
  558. the  original  Disk-vaildator.
  559.  
  560. If you  have virus infected disks, I recommmend to try to use several dif-
  561. ferent  killers,  in  some cases the killer may just break-down by meeting
  562. the  virus,  if you try to repair your disks,  or don't find the virus you
  563. have  got.  A good advise: ALWAYS use a backup of your disk, when you have
  564. to repair your virus problems, and especially...with the "Saddam" virus or
  565. other link or file viruses!
  566.

  568. Many people have contacted  me  saying ,  that they have found a "SPECIAL"
  569. virus an "Australian  Parasite" virus , which cannot be killed with VirusX
  570. 4.01, (the LAST official release...) I understand this problem quite well,
  571. because  by a stroke  of  luck  VirusX,  is  accidental  able  to find the
  572. "Saddam Hussein"  Disk-validator   virus .  The  problem here is, that the
  573. Australian  Parasite   virus,  is a virus you will find in the boot block,
  574. and the nasty "Saddam" virus is to be found in the L/Dir.
  575.  
  576. After repair, always....... use a program like Quarterback  Tools to check
  577. the disk to see if the disk structure is all right.

  581. About the CCCP Virus:
  582. --------------------
  583. I have gotten  letters  from  several  people  who  have problems with the
  584. "CCCP" virus . The  problem  is  that  this  special virus has both a boot
  585. part, and a link part.
  586.  
  587. The solution is that you to delete both parts. If you only delete the boot
  588. part  the  remaining  link  part , will  write a new boot part, as soon as
  589. possible.
  590.  
  591. PLEASE NOTE: In most cases you will find  all non-boot  viruses  infecting
  592. in the very  first  C/Command stated  in  the  S/Startup-sequence. If not,
  593. please try  to  check  the  file  dates if you have a clock. If you  still
  594. have  problems, try to infect a copy of your  "Workbench Disk" and  try to
  595. find the changes in  the files, by doing a compare between the
  596. files,  or  even  better  do  a file scan with a program like BootX in the
  597. "check files" mode.

  1557. If  you  get  disk  errors caused by a virus infection or of cause ordinary
  1558. disk  errors, I  will recommend you to use the excellent "Disksalv" version
  1559. 1.42, programmed  by  David  Haynie. You can find this program on Fred Fish
  1560. 251, or  you  can  contact  your  regional virus center to get this one and
  1561. several other Public Domaine utilities for disk repair and like.

  1563. A Commercial Program:
  1564. Quaterback Tools ver 1.5 is v very excellent program for disk repair, and I
  1565. think specially excellent for Hard disk repair, the price is about 60-80 $,
  1566. so I think that all with a hard disk can afford that?

  1818. To prevent spreading of new viruses , we are a group of Amiga  enthusiasts,
  1819. who are very , very angry on guys , who are  making  viruses . Therefore we
  1820. have  determined  to do something  AGAINST IT . We offer each least $ 50 or
  1821. more to the first guy , who is sending us the address , and name on a virus
  1822. maker to our  group . I can  promise you, that your name will be held TOTAL
  1823. SECRET . (It's  only 0.5 cents a week, if you think about , that a it takes
  1824. 2 years to finish a case by the court, I think that everyone can  afford to
  1825. spend that kind of small amount!)
  1826.  
  1827. Attention! The reward is ONLY...to be paid, if the virus maker is convicted
  1828. by the law , therefore  try to  send some  evidence for guilt , we can send
  1829. to the law .  I hope we are able to collect about  1000 $ for each man, who

  2238. Most  viruses  is by  the first step, known as being spread from  our "BBS"
  2239. (Bulletin  Bords  Systems).  Concerning  one  of  the most worldwide spread
  2240. viruses,  the  "Saddam  Hussein",  was  spread  by the pirate copies of the
  2241. game  "Renegade  Legion  Interceptor", as  one  of the first steps from the
  2242. States,  and  unfortunately  upload  to  BBS's  worldwide within a week. We

  2281. NO MORE LOST TIME WITH VIRUS UPDATES!

  2283. Several  virus  killer programmers are spending a lot of time with updating
  2284. of their virus killer every time there are coming new viruses.

  2286. This  point I hope  in the near future will stop, because I have started to
  2287. co-operate  together  with  a  programmer  (assembler), who  together  with
  2288. me  will  make two virus libraries , which is intended to place in the libs
  2289. directory.
  2290.  
  2291. The one  library  for  boot  block  viruses, and the other one for non-boot
  2292. block  viruses . In  that  way  your killer will be updated automatic, when
  2293. you  are  installing  our  newest  virus  brainfile in the libs dir. Easy I
  2294. think; then you can spend your time to improve your program itself.

  2297. The future thoughts about these brainfiles, is:

  2299. 1. You  will  be  allowed to use the virus brainfiles free, if your program
  2300.    is shareware with donation less than 20 $, or freeware of cause.

  2302. 2. If  commercial  or  shareware  donation more than 20 $, you had to pay a
  2303.    little licence.

  2305. 3. This  little  brainfile  is  intended to be placed on several well known
  2306.    BBS boards , and  updated  maybe  20  times a year on several BBS Boards
  2307.    all  over  the  world  for fast updating of your program. I hope that so
  2308.    many  programmers  as possible will co-operate in getting this files, as
  2309.    a new Amiga standard of the future to stop the viruses!

  2346. myself to do the updates, when I get new file-viruses.

  2351. As you yourself can think there is a lot of programmer?, (I  don't  know or
  2352. trust  them  all!),  but  a  lot of people ask me for viruses, and sorry to
  2353. say,  I  don't send viruses to most of them, because I don't know, if can I
  2354. thrust  them or not. And in this way we maybe will loose a lot of very good
  2355. anti virus programs for the future virus fight.

  2357. HOW TO DESIGN THIS PROGRAM
  2358. I  don't know exactly how, but I think maybe the following idea for the new
  2359. brainfile maker:

  2362.         1. An alone standing program, very like the way and using as in the
  2363.            Zerovirus boot-learn features. (I am not a programmer)
  2364.  
  2365.         2. The  recognize  bit must not be 8 bit as in the Zerovirus, but I
  2366.            prefer  16-32 bit  for  the  most 100 % safety, (you see if some
  2367.            files is named viruses without to be, it will be a disaster!
  2368.  
  2369.         3. This  brainfile  must  be  designed  in  assembler code for fast
  2370.            running I think and as a normal Amiga DOS library.

  2372.         4. The  doc  must  tell  how to use this program in C and Assembler
  2373.            programs.

  2379. A NEW GENERATION OF UNPACK LIBRARY? WE NEED YOUR HELP!!

  2381. Most  viruses  is  by the first step, known as being spread from  our "BBS"
  2382. (Bulletin  Board  Systems).   Concerning one of the most worldwide spreaden
  2383. viruses,  the  "Saddam  Hussein",  was spreaden by the pirate copies of the
  2384. game  "Renegade  Legion  Interceptor",  as  one of the first steps from the
  2385. States,  and  unfortunately  upload  to  BBS's  worldwide within a week. We
  2386. all know the result of that!
  2387.  
  2388. You  maybe  can  see  the  foolish  in waiting for the next virus disaster.
  2389. To  the  day  we are waiting all... TOO LONG before we are going in action.
  2390. Why made a new PROGRAMS specially for BBS?
  2391.  
  2392. What  we  need  is a Unpack Library knowing all BBS (modem packers) and all
  2393. disk  packer  programs  and  of  cause  both  for Amiga and PC use. You can
  2394. probably  see  the  meaning  in this  UnPacker  program  used  with a virus
  2395. killer,  BBS,  file  editors,  and a lot of other programs. This unpack.lib
